Grace Hospital Auxiliary The Grace Hospital Auxiliary is accepting donations of "Gently Read Books". Unfortunately, we are unable to sell Encyclopedias and condensed Reader's Digests and would gladly accept current or less than a year old magazines.
Books etc. can be dropped off at Enquiry located in the front foyer of the hospital or at Receiving - located behind Emergency which is accessible off Sturgeon Rd. We are unable to provide pick up service.
We thank you for your past support and contributions. All profits from the sale of these books etc. go to Patient Care at the Grace. |

"Cycle to Walk" for Polio "Cylce to Walk" is a public health initiative for Canadians, as 11% of the Canadian population has not been immunized for Polio. The "Cycle to Walk" team will be coming through Winnipeg on June 14th. If you would like to join the bike ride, please meet near the East Gate of Assiniboine Park (at Wellington Crescent) by 9:45 am.
The ride begins at 10:00 am, including riding/rolling/wheeling from the East Gate, down Wellington, Stradbrook, Harkness, and Mayfair, on to Main Street, cross over the Assiniboine River, and turn in to The Forks. The final destination is Oodena Circle.
Come out to support Ramesh and the Cycle to Walk campaign. They'll be breaking the 2,500 km mark on and it would be great to receive a roaring welcome to Winnipeg.

"In Someone Else's Shoes" Keepsakes Gallery is flexing its artistic muscle to participate in The Fringe Festival, July 16 to 27. Joyce Winter-Schmidt, manager of this not-for-profit art gallery is directing "In Someone Else's Shoes" as a fundraiser for the gallery. The eight stories that make up the hour's entertainment cover a range of
situations including: the struggles of menopause ("I'm So Hot"), pitfalls of starting a home for the homeless, and confessions of a pack rat. Humour, recovery from abuse, insights and storytelling combine to make "In Someone Else's Shoes" a stimulating evening. An original song by Jon Bergen opens and closes the show. Tickets are ($7.00) and are available at Keepsakes after July 1 and one hour before show time. |

SCE LifeWorks' 9th Annual Golden Plate Gala SCE LifeWorks' 9th Annual Golden Plate Gala is quickly approaching! Our major fundraising event, the Gala features a seven-course dining experience lead by Raymond Czayka, recently named Manitoba's Chef of the Year by the Winnipeg Branch of the Canadian Culinary Federation Culinaire Canadienne (CCFCC). Funds raised at the Gala go towards the SCE LifeWorks mission of supporting adults with intellectual disabilities to work and participate in the community. Currently, we support over 166 people in achieving their personal goals. Tickets are $125 each.
