Cardiac care in the Winnipeg health region is above the average national rate when it comes to heart attack fatalities and re-admission rates. That's according to data released by the Canadian Institute for Health Information. But Dr. Alan Menkis, Medical Director of the WRHA Cardiac Sciences Program, says there are always ways to keep improving.
Menkis says it's more prudent to compare Winnipeg's specialized cardiac care with the other 33 cardiac hospitals, rather than all hospitals across the country.
