Forced to retire, Winnipeg pilot wins human rights challenge

8/28/2009

A local pilot fully expects to win his Canadian Human Rights challenge of Air Canada's retirement policy.

Winnipeg-based pilot Raymond Hall was forced to retire last month at age 59. The company's mandatory retirement age is 60.

However, the Commission has today ruled the retirement policy is unconstitutional, paving the way for Hall and 125 other complainants to extend their flying careers...

Hall says he won't be getting in the pilot's seat for awhile, though.
In addition to running a successful law practice, he's been nominated to run federally for the Conservatives in Winnipeg South Centre.
