Brown water flowing from some Winnipeg taps
CJOB News Team reporting
7/28/2010

Tap water is running brown this morning in parts of Winnipeg, especially in northern neighbourhoods.

The city blames the issue on the emergency shutdown of the pumping station at McPhillips Street and Logan Avenue yesterday between 4 and 5 p.m.

Water Services Manager Diane Sacher explains why the city didn't notify resident right away.

The city says to avoid drinking tap water that is murky or brown. The city also recommends running your tap for about five minutes until it runs clear.

Anyone with questions can call 311.
