The consequences are devastating and far reaching but people are still drinking and driving.
Brian Smiley of Manitoba Public Insurance told CJOB's Nighthawk he doesn't know why some people would take such a risk.
He says the statistics are alarming..
Smiley says of the 90 highway related fatalities in the province last year one third of them were alcohol related.
