The Manitoba government is ramping up our English as an Additional Language, and newcomer grants.
The province has designated 1.2 million dollars in new funding bringing the total for EAL for this year to around 11 million dollars.
The money includes 100-thousand dollars for the Newcomer Support grant helping school divisions develop programming for adolescents and young adult students with refugee and war-affected backgrounds whose education has been disrupted.
