Manitoba Tories gathered at a hotel in downtown Winnipeg this afternoon for their annual general meeting.
In a speech to party members, Progressive Conservative leader Hugh McFadyen said the next election in October, 2011, is closer than it seems.
McFadyen admits it won't be easy to defeat the NDP, but he's gearing up for the challenge.
McFadyen's speech was mostly designed to pump up party members.
But he also touched on some policies, including a pledge to expand the role of nurse practitioners to ease the pressure on doctors.
