Just over 900 delegates at the Association of Manitoba Municipalities (AMM) 11th Annual Convention in Brandon want the provincial government to support the creation of a school of medicine at Brandon University.
One delegate called it one of the best ideas that’s been put forward in recent times.
Municipal politicians are concerned about a shortage of doctors, especially in rural areas of the province. There have been no discussions about funding for the school.
Meantime, Delegates have acclaimed RM of MacDonald Councillor Doug Dobrowolski as President for a second year.
