Stoughton Pulls Off Another Win
Manitoba's Jeff Stoughton has kept his playoff hopes alive at the Tim Horton's Brier in Halifax with a 7-6 extra end win over Saskatchewan Thursday afternoon.  Stoughton finishes the round robin with a 7-4 record, and now needs help from Quebec in the final round Thursday night.  If Quebec beats Newfoundland, Manitoba and Newfoundland would play a tie-breeaker for the final playoff spot Friday morning.  But if Newfoundland beats Quebec, they get the final playoff spot and Stoughton is eliminated. Ontario's Glen Howard has clinched first place.  He takes a leading 10-0 record into the final draw Thursday night, Northern Ontario is 9-2 and Alberta 8-2. The Manitoba Masters Mens Championship began Thursday at the Fort Rouge Club.  Winning their opening games were Larry Saban, Ron Westcott, Reg Malanchuk, Lawrie Hogg, Norm Magnsson, Ken Davis, Les Hooper and Bunny Small.
