The Winnipeg Goldeyes scored seven times in the first inning, and hammered the Rockford RiverHawks 15-2 in seven innings tonight in the only game of the scheduled doubleheader that was played...
The second game was cancelled due to rain... Because the Goldeyes and RiverHawks are out of playoff contention, the game will not be made up.
Winnipeg finishes the 2010 season with a three-game series in Schaumburg against the Flyers, which begins Friday night.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers will be flying, rather than busing, to Regina for the first time in more than a decade when they meet the Riders in their annual Labor Day Weekend showdown. Head coach Paul Lapolice says the 6-hour bus-ride from Winnipeg to Regina just isn't in the best interest of proper game preparation.
Lapolice is still not ready to name his starting quarterback for Sundays game. He said he might hold off until SAturday before naming Buck Pierce or Steven Jyles as the starter. Linebacker Bernard Hicks will sit out the game with a leg injury. Clint Kent will take his place. CJOB's broadcast from Regina begins at 1-05pm Sunday with a 2-hour pre-game show.

The Winnipeg Goldeyes game in Rockford Ilinois was rained out tonight.As a result the Goldeyes and Riverhawks will play a doubleheader tommrow night.Winnipeg has already been eliminated from playoff contention after being beaten 7 to nothing in Rockford Tuesday.
