Bougeons en hiver: The Jack Frost Challenge! is a new event celebrating winter in Manitoba. This fun challenge takes place the week of February 11th to 17th.
Teams of 1 to 5 participants are encouraged to sign up to skate, bike, ski, snowshoe, or walk a combined total of 130 km during that week. Sign up your team of friends, family, co-workers or classmates to glide, swish, pedal, and crunch your way across the snow. To work, to school, to the grocery store or just for fun, it doesn’t matter! Frolic in the snow and celebrate winter Manitoba-style, whatever the temperature.
All participants will be entered in a draw for ‘cool’ prizes.
Register your team at www.greenactioncentre.ca or call us at 925-3775 for more information. Bougeons en hiver: The Jack Frost Challenge! is hosted by Green Action Centre, your non-profit hub for greener living.

KidSport Manitoba, will be taking the plunge into the Lac-Du-Bonnet waters, in support of the Polar Bear Dare fundraiser, with proceeds going towards kids in sport. The challenge is a twist on the traditional Polar Bear swim, where individuals raise money for charities and jump into frigid waters. The Polar Bear Dare invites supporters to “dare” one another to raise the most funds, with the winner receiving immunity from having to brave the cold water.
KidSport Manitoba invites co-workers, families, sport teams and friends to participate, as well as any individual supporters that are brave enough to take the plunge. There are three ways to join the Polar Bear Dare:
1. Accept the dare, raise funds, and jump in the lake
2. Dare someone else, raise funds, and they jump in the lake
3. Dare one another, raise funds, and the one who raises the least jumps in the lake
