Rick Rypien suspended six games

The severity of the Rypien incident is sure to be debated from coast to coast. And an added note: the Minnesota fans were being moved to different seats, not being removed from the arena.  This next brawl however, is on a completely different level. WARNING: Contents of this video may be hard to watch for some (no audio).

What do you think? Is going into the stands and/or attacking fans - paying customers - ever justified? Or is any incident that spills over into the crowd reprehensible? Does your opinion change when a fan enters onto the players side of the action?

My opinion: if you as a fan jump over and onto the field of play, you are fair game.  How is the player suppose to know what your intentions are?  As for the Rypien incident, while there is no glass on the side ...

R.I.P. Ronnie James Dio

Posted 5/17/2010 2:17:00 PM
A sad day for heavy metal fans came yesterday with the passing of Ronnie James Dio. Known primarily as the front-man of Black Sabbath throughout the 1980's, as well as a renowned solo artist, Dio was perhaps the quintessential heavy metal singer.

In addition to all those bands mentioned, Dio reunited with members of Black Sabbath to form Heaven & Hell in 2006, to contribute 3 new songs to the Black Sabbath: The Dio Years compilation.  Heaven & Hell released their debut album, The Devil You Know, in April of 2009.

Dio influenced countless heavy metal bands, with his fantasy-fueled lyrics, and banshee-like wails.  He will be missed.
