There is a move underway to convince the province to pay for in vitro fertilization for Manitoba couples trying to have a baby.
Health Minister Theresa Oswald will meet next week with fertility experts and patient advocates.
In vitro can cost up to 10-thousand dollars, which prohibits many Manitobans from trying it.
The Heartland Fertility and Gynecology clinic says it's seen a marked increase of infertile couples over the past couple of years.
It's the only clinic in the province that performs in vitro fertilization, doing up to 200 procedures a year. It says they could do 500 a year if the province provided funding.
