The federal government is unveiling ads to warn people about becoming victims of immigration fraud -- involving marriages of convenience.
Immigration Lawyer Ken Zaifman tells CJOB the Immigration law has been changed recently to make sure Canadians who marry someone from Overseas have to be together for two years..
Before the change people could come to Canada, land and leave their marriage the next day..
Zaifman adds for the most part the majority of marriages between Canadians and spouses from Overseas are genuine..
March is Fraud Prevention Month..
