Winnipeg Police have made an arrest in Saturday afternoon’s fatal crash at McPhillips Street and William Avenue.
The crash involved seven vehicles – some were in a parking lot – and several people went to hospital, including a 71-year-old woman who later died.
Police say a Ford Ranger was speeding in the northbound curb lane on McPhillips when it hit a Honda Ridgeline that was making an eastbound turn onto William from southbound McPhillips. The Ranger then bounced into a Chevrolet Cobalt – which was being driven by the 71 year old – then the Ranger hit a Honda Civic and eventually damaged a couple more cars in a lot.
The driver of the Ranger – 29 year old Adam Langan – was arrested at the scene, and faces a number of charges including impaired driving causing death.
