Grinch Thieves Steal Christmas Presents

Winnipeg, MB, Canada / 680 CJOB - Winnipeg's News & Information Leader

A pair of thieves have put a huge damper on Christmas for an elderly Winnipeg woman – as they stole all the presents under her tree.

Friday morning just before 11 o’clock, police were dispatched to the first 100 block of Greensboro Square in Waverley Heights for the report of a residential robbery.

An 80 year old woman came up from her basement to find two males in her home. When they saw her, they knocked her down and ran out of the home and took off in a blue or green SUV, possibly a Nissan Juke or Subaru Outback.

They’d already stolen some items from her home, including the presents for her family from under the Christmas tree.

Thankfully, she wasn’t hurt.

The first suspect is described as Asian or Oriental in appearance with light brown skin, medium length black hair and a moustache. He was wearing a brown coloured winter parka with fur on the hood. The woman didn’t get a good look at the other suspect or the driver in the getaway vehicle.
