Winnipeg Police have quietly charged a former Scouts Canada volunteer leader with sex charges, three years after an internal investigation cleared him of any wrongdoing.
680 CJOB’s Crime and Punishment host and Winnipeg Free Press crime reporter Mike McIntyre has unveiled court documents which show Larry Kiska, 45, was arrested on May 25th.
It’s alleged that a girl between the ages of 15 and 17 was abused numerous times between August 2011 and May 2013. Scouts Canada investigated the man in June 2012 and found no criminal activity, but decided to end Kiska’s membership with the organization.
Kiska has been charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, and touching for a sexual purpose. This is another black eye for Scouts Canada on the sex charges front, as former volunteer and radio jock Chris “Shecky” Elwick has pleaded guilty to eight charges for incidents spanning five years.
