Our concerns this week surround Portage Avenue which is still full of construction as you leave the downtown heading WB.
- WB Portage from Arlington to Burnell, ongoing road work continues until WEDNESDAY, where the median lane and second lane are closed for hydro work.
- WB Portage from Balmoral Street to Spence Street – right in front of the U of W – the median lane and adjacent lane are closed for water repairs meaning only a single lane remains open. This will also take us to Wednesday.
Then, starting on Wednesday, WB Portage from Furby to Sherbrook, the two middle lanes will be closed hydro work. Through traffic will be permitted in the diamond lane. This is long-term, running well into next month.
Due to that same project, NB Sherbrook at Portage will see the east curb and bicycle lanes closed as well.
Another ongoing project is on William Avenue in both directions between Adelaide and Ellen, the curb lanes remain closed for hydro manhole work meaning you’re down to single-file both ways.
From Monday until Wednesday, road work will be done on Corydon Avenue between Cambridge Street and Thurso Street.
- On Monday, the WB curb lane will be closed.
- On Tuesday and Wednesday, both center lanes will be closed with both curb lanes open.
