The $155 million Waverlery underpass project could be facing delays after a city committee did not approve a report, instead opting for a layover of up to 60 days.
The report from the administration asked city council to sign off on the recommendations so engineers could get to work this month.
However, a city committee only received the report on Friday and Councillor Devi Sharma tells 680 CJOB, they need more time to review it.
“I think in that time period, council will have more of an opportunity to look at the report and to do their proper homework on the matter,” said Sharma.
The public service told a committee that the entire project could be delayed by up to year if it’s not started this month.
During the meeting, councillors criticized the administration for keeping them in dark since last March and trying to rush this massive project through City Hall.
