True North Square will attract new businesses to downtown Winnipeg.
At least, that’s the hope.
It’s also the idea behind the $17.6 million dollars that the province and city are putting into the $400-million project.
CentreVenture’s Angela Matheson tells Winnipeg’s Morning News it’s an investment that should pay dividends to downtown.
“The idea is that, when they make those commitments, it attracts developments to locate there. And when the businesses decide to locate, the taxes that they generate go back into paying for that infrastructure.”
True North says it will provide more details about what exactly is going in to True North Square next month.
