A large donation is helping create more opportunities for students at the University of Manitoba.
Over one million dollars is being split between three programs.
The funding allow medical students to practice medicine in remote northern communities, support indigenous students pursing business and over half-a-million dollars is being put towards a mental health program.
Nursing Student and Active Minds founding member Deborah Chan says a lot of students deal with some form of mental health on a daily basis.
“I have been very privileged to listen to their inner struggles and their journey to seek help. The substantial commitment to fund the Manitoba Online Overcoming Depression program will allow more students to access the resources they need to be as healthy as possible.”
The money was donated by the RBC Foundation.
