After Brett “The Blind Kid” Devloo’s original appearance on my show, he appeared on ABC’s 20/20. Now he has the opportunity to appear on The Ellen DeGeneres Show – with your help. Yes, he cannot see – and still skateboards (check out the video below), but there’s so much more to his story …
I first introduced you to Brett a couple of years ago, when the Manitoba teen shared his story about how he lost his sight almost overnight. Kids called him “The Blind Kid.” Then he decided to take ownership of that name – literally. Brett started a clothing line, called “The Blind Kid” and donates proceeds towards helping visually impaired teens. In addition to his philanthropy, he shares his experiences with other young people to teach them empathy in the face of bullying, and has even won an international humanitarian award for his work. Brett has also earned high praise for his skateboarding skills from Tony Hawk, one of the world’s foremost pro skaters.
So let’s share with Ellen how proud we are of our Manitoba boy, Brett “The Blind Kid” Devloo, so he can share an inspirational vision with the world. Now go ahead and tweet, email, or Facebook the video below to Ellen. And you can listen to Brett live on my show at 2:30pmCT.
