A marathon five week trial has ended with a guilty verdict against Darrell Ackman, 46, on prostition and child sex crimes.
Ackman was convicted Wednesday night on all 14 counts he was charged with, including: living off the avails of prostition, making child pornography, sexual assault and sexual interfence.
Five of Ackman’s seven victims were between 13 and 17 years old.
Ackman, otherwise known as his internet handle, Mr. JetzTV, acted as his own lawyer which led to several bizarre moments.
There was awkward cross-examinations of several witnesses including the Winnipeg Police unit directly involved in his arrest. At times Ackman would refer to himself in the third person and compared himself to Justin Beiber and Hilary Clinton.
There was even heated exchanges with Justice Chris Martin.
Officers began monitoring Ackman after seeing online videos and classified ads. He was arrested in July 2012 during a sting operation where Ackman tried to pimp two girls to an undercover agent.
Ackman remains in custody and will be sentenced at a later date.
