The downtown public safety building isn’t worth saving.
That’s according to a new report that goes to the city’s property committee next week.
The report looked at the pros and cons of renovating the old police headquarters and civic parkade on Princess Street.
It says while the building has historical significance, it would be a costly restoration project.
The report makes three recommendations on what to do with the land: turn it into a large public space, build a new headquarters for the city’s planning, property and development department or make it into a large parkade with office space for the parking authority.
