After almost a seven hour closure, the stretch of the Trans Canada highway is open again between Headingley and Portage la Prairie.
The Trans Canada was first blocked off west of Elie after a report of a crash Saturday evening.
At around 11 p.m., the highway was shut down between Portage and Elie due to icy conditions. The closure was then extended to Headingley.
Other roads were listed as ice and snow covered late Saturday night, with blowing snow also reported on many stretches. Meantime all other highways outside of Winnipeg were open.
