Today, March 8th is International Women’s Day.
But here is my question – why is there still a need for this in 2016? When you consider Gloria Steinem was leading bra burning crusades in the 1960s, why is this still an issue?
Sadly, the numbers don’t lie. Women only make 73 cents to every dollar a man makes. Even Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, in his International Women’s Day address said…
On this special day, we celebrate the many achievements of women in Canada – and around the world – and we reaffirm our commitment to gender equality. While we have made enormous progress towards equality over the years, we know that we still have a lot of hard work to do. Far too many women and girls continue to face injustices and discrimination.
Today we spoke with HR expert Sue Kathler. Take a listen to her thoughts on how far we’ve come and how far we still need to go.
