Matt Dunstone of Winnipeg is back on track, and Nova Scotia’s Mary Fay continues to roll right along at the World Junior Curling Championships in Taarnby, Denmark.
Dunstone needed just 6 ends on Wednesday to dominate the host country of Denmark 9-1. The two time Canadian Junior Champs jumped out to a 5-0 lead after 3 ends, and then put the game away with a four in the 6th end. Dunstone is now 4-2 and sitting in third place in the Junior Men’s standings with 3 games remaining, including a 7 a.m. CST match up Thursday morning against 2-4 Turkey.
Fay cruised to a 9-4 win over Korea overnight in a showdown of undefeated rinks. The Chester, Nova Scotia foursome rallied quickly from an early 2-0 deficit and then took control with a three in the 6th end to snap a 3-3 tie. The Canadian Champs have been tested just once as they’ve outscored their 7 opponents 60-22. Fay has already qualified for the playoff round heading into her final two games versus Japan at Noon CST on Thursday and then Japan at 7 a.m. CST Friday morning.
