With one draw remaining at the 2016 Brier in Ottawa, all the playoff berths have been settled- except for who will finish on top. And that will be determined starting at 8:30 a.m. Friday Morning when 10-0 Northern Ontario squares off against 9-1 Newfoundland-Labrador in the “Battle of the Brads”, Jacobs vs Gushue.
The winner of that game will have the hammer in the first end of the 1-2 Page Playoff on Friday Night at 6:30 p.m. And Alberta’s Kevin Koe (8-3) will meet Mike McEwen of Manitoba (7-3) in the 3-4 Game Saturday Afternoon at 1:30 p.m.
McEwen wrapped up 4th place with an 8-5 win over Jean-Michel Menard of Quebec Thursday Night. Earlier in the day the Manitoba champs dropped an 8-5 decision to the Jacobs juggernaut.
McEwen’s final round robin game is at 8:30 a.m. Friday Morning versus Adam Casey of Prince Edward Island to tune up for the rematch with Koe who he lost to on Monday Night.
