Spring has arrived early in Winnipeg with a new temperature record for March 12th.
The temperature at the airport reached 11.9 degrees at 4 o’clock. The previous record high was 9.5, in 2012.
Signs of spring are popping up throughout Winnipeg. For golfers there are a couple of extra options this weekend, with the drving ranges opening at Shooters on Main Street, and Hackers & Smackers on Wilkes — joining the Golf Dome on Wilkes and Golf Central on Plessis, which are open year round.
Also, a pair of ice-cream institutions are back in business this weekend — Sargent Sundae on Portage, and the Bridge Drive-In on Jubilee.
The double digit temperatures are expected to stick around until Tuesday, but it’s going to start cooling off again on Wednesday.
