Winnipeg Police have made an arrest following a fatal crash in north Winnipeg last month.
The collision happened on February 27 at around 1:30 a.m. at McPhillips Street and Jarvis Avenue. Officers allege the woman driving a Honda Civic blew a red light and struck a Buick Regal.
Both the woman and a 71 year old man were taken to hospital in critical condition. The man later died of his injuries.
Police also allege the Honda Civic was stolen from the area of Sherbrook Street and Ross Avenue earlier that morning. Investigators believe the woman sideswiped a car before the fatal crash, but no one was injured in that incident.
After a lengthy investigation, Summer Sky Patchinose, 22, was arrested on Monday.
Charges include: Criminal Negligence Causing Death, Impaired Driving, Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Driving with a Disqualified License.
She remains in police custody.
