A 17-year-old gymnist from Brandon is making her presence known on the world stage.
Isabela Onyshko picked up the silver medal in her first all-around only gymnastics World Cup event in Germany.
Onsyshko, finished second on the floor, third on the beam and forth on the uneven bars and vault.
Top-ranked Sophie Sheder of Germany took the gold and Amelia Hundly of the United States won bronze.
The result at this event will help Onyshko, who’s fighting for a spot on Canada’s Olympic competition team.
She and a gymnast from Quebec will head to Rio de Janiero, Brazil next month to compete at an Olympics test event, to gain some first-hand experience of the Olympic venue.
Canada will name its five-member Olympic squad this summer, after the national championships in June.
