The NDP is promising to help fund upgrades to the Transcona Kinsmen Centennial Pool, if they form government.
Greg Selinger’s party will invest up to $1.2-million to cover the shortfall needed to finish the renovations.
The City of Winnipeg halted the upgrades last year when the cost jumped from $6-million to $7.2 million dollars.
As a result, the outdoor pool won’t open for a second straight summer. The plans also call for new change rooms and a splash pad. The indoor pool is still open.
Meanwhile, the NDP are also promising to work with the River-East Transcona School Division to help redevelop Radisson School. The plans include creating a new child care centre, renovating classrooms and re-developing the performing arts space.
The PC’s and Liberals didn’t make any announcements on Saturday.
