A rough second period for the Manitoba Moose spelled their doom in a 5-2 home loss to the Milwaukee Admirals.
After the Moose took a 1-0 lead into the second frame, the first-place Admirals tossed 18 shots at Eric Comrie, who allowed three of them to get by him.
Darren Kramer cut the lead to one midway through the third before Milwaukee pulled away with two goals in a 72 second stretch.
Comrie allowed five goals on 37 shots in the loss, which keeps the Moose at 55 points with four games to go. Only the Iowa Wild have fewer points (54) but with two fewer games played.
Manitoba hosts Rockford twice this weekend before finishing the season on a two-game Texas road swing the following weekend.
