If you’re still trying to get your hands on a Census form, you’re not alone.
Statistics Canada says every home gets one with a code to do it online, but many people are trying to get a paper copy.
Stats Canada’s Prairie Regional Director, Lorne Anderson, tells 680 CJOB says they have 350 operators on the phones and it’s still not enough.
“The response to the census has been so phenomenal that, frankly, we probably should have had more people manning those phones. But, when we did our planning, we didn’t anticipate the number of people who’d still be calling in to request questionnaires or to get some of their questions answered,” said Anderson.
He adds while the deadline was May 10th, it’s more of a ‘soft deadline’.
13 million forms were sent out.
Roughly half have been completed.
