A pedestrian walkway on the Disraeli Freeway remains closed after a car smashed into the staircase.
It happened on Saturday near Argyle School. A vehicle jumped the guardrail and crashed into the metal staircase causing significant damage to both the car and stairs.
The guardrail is being repaired tomorrow, so the adjacent traffic lane can re-open. But the city tells 680 CJOB contractors and a structural engineer will be assessing the damage to the stairs and develop a repair plan.
In the meantime, the walkway will remain closed.
The estimated cost for repairs is unknown.
