Is it time to stop publishing (and over-publishing) pictures of murderers and terrorists?
While the identities of the victims of the Orlando terrorist attack begin to emerge, the identity and face of the terrorist continues to appear all over every form of media. The terrorist, whose name I will no longer cite, killed 49 people and injured dozens of others, was shot dead by police.
Is the pride that Dayesh takes in this massacre only strengthened by the publicity the terrorist receives? If suicide bombers are worshipped by their radical supporters, could you imagine the worship the terrorist inspires? And is this disrespectful to the victims and survivors?
So I ask you, rather than publishing the photo of this terrorist over and over, should media perhaps publish photos highlighting the memory of victims and the solidarity and strength of the survivors and their supporters? Taking your calls and texts after 1pm: 204.780.6868.
P.S. The FBI just said it will no longer use the terrorist’s name.
