WINNIPEG – Two 21-year-olds face murder charges after a fire on Aberdeen Avenue killed a man last week.
The early morning blaze last Wednesday sent 50-year-old David Sanderson to hospital where he died.
Autopsy results showed the victim had been assaulted prior to the fire.
Billy Joe Linklater and Lorie Knott have both been charged with second-degree murder and arson.
Police have also made an arrest after a violent robbery yesterday morning.
The accused, 18-year-old Devin Colomb, along with a second suspect who was not arrested approached a couple on River Avenue around 2:45 a.m.
That second suspect pulled a knife, assaulted a female without provocation and took her purse.
A few hours later the accused threatened someone with a machete and took his bus pass.
Colomb faces a number of charges. The second suspect remains at large.
