WINNIPEG – Highway 307 has reopened after torrential rains last weekend washed out a section of it.
The route is used by people driving into the central Whiteshell region.
It had been closed after the area received close to 150 mms of rain over a couple of days.
A provincial spokesperson said the road was back in service as of Friday evening.
Other roads have been fixed as well, including the one leading to Penguin Resort on Falcon Lake which was washed away by the same storm.
Highway 44 between highways 307 and 312 remains closed because of water on the road as does 312 which is also flooded.
The province is hosting an information session on the south Whiteshell flooding on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. at the Falcon Lake Community Centre where they will outline the latest information on repairs and next steps.
