WINNIPEG – New Leaf is ready to take flight.
The Winnipeg-based, discount airline has already had a bumpy take-off following a review by the Canadian Transportation Agency that delayed their original launch date. Questions have also been raised about their finances.
However, President and CEO Jim Young tells 680 CJOB they will begin flying on Monday.
“We’re gonna be ready to go with our first flight coming in from Hamilton.
“The demand is so strong, we launched our named your own price bidding program and already received 275 bids.
“We are well financed.”
The airline is partnering with Flair Airlines, which will provide the aircrafts, crew and maintenance.
New Leaf will fly to eleven different destinations throughout Canada and Young adds they’re looking at vacation packages down south.
