GRAND BEACH – Two children who drowned to death at Grand Beach over the long weekend have been identified.
12-year-old David Medina and 11-year-old Jhonalyn Javier were playing in the water Monday evening, when one of the parents lost sight on them in the setting sun.
Photos posted online show the pair playing in the sand and water hours before their death.
David was just shy of his 13th birthday.
Both the kids families are from the Philippines, moving to Winnipeg in the last two years.
A viewing for the pair will take place on Saturday at Mosaic Funeral Home on Inkster starting at 6 p.m.
