Winnipeg – The Winnipeg Jets have just one remaining restricted free agent to sign for the 2016-17 NHL season after agreeing to terms with forward J.C. Lipon (pictured left) on a one year- two way deal worth $650,000 dollars.
The 23 year old right winger had one assist (March 5 vs Montreal) in nine NHL games during his two recalls by the Jets. The 6-0, 195 pound forward from Regina added 13 goals and 17 assists for 30 points in 45 games with the AHL Manitoba Moose.
Going into his fourth pro season, the Jets third round pick (91st overall) from the 2013 NHL Draft has 27-70-97 in 192 career AHL games.
That leaves defenceman Jacob Trouba as Winnipeg’s only remaining unsigned restricted free agent heading into the coming season.
