Since your health care costs are filtered through your taxes, it’s hard to determine what you’re contributing to the public pool, so the Fraser Institute has made that determination for you.
You’ll see an overview in the chart below, but on average the Institute estimates the average Canadian family consisting of two parents and two children (with an average income of $122,101) can expect to pay $11,494 this year, while the average single person (with an average income of $42,914) can expect to pay $4,257 for public health care.
