MANITOBA – Police have been cleared of any wrongdoing in the death of a man wanted for killing his estranged wife.
Kevin Runke shot himself in the head while being followed by police near St. Malo last fall.
He was considered a person of interest in the murder of 49-year-old Camille – she was killed outside her work in St. Boniface three days earlier.
Manitoba’s police watchdog, the Independent Investigations Unit says it reviewed what happened – and police did nothing wrong.
They had no contact with Runke, or his car and never used their firearms.
