WINNIPEG – Hundreds of people took to the streets of downtown Winnpeg to protest pipelines and fight for clean water.
The Manitoba Energy Justice Coalition marched along side First Nations people to march against the Kinder Morgan TransMountain pipeline.
Leading the procession was a sacred 7-metre long totem pole. The brightly painted pole was a gift from the Lummi nation in Washington State and is traveling across North America.

The march started at the Forks around 3:30p.m. Monday.
Organizers say the main reason for gathering is to remind people that water is life and it should be protected.
