Winnipeg – Newly acquired Winnipeg Blue Bombers Defensive Back TJ Heath turned in a Shaw CFL Top Performer of the Week type effort in his final game as a Toronto Argonaut on Sunday. Heath was part of the package the Blue Bombers received in the Drew Willy trade.
The 6-0 and 190 pound 29 year old from Alexandria, Alabama had 7 defensive tackles and a pair of interceptions in the Argos 33-24 win over the Hamilton Tiger Cats, prior to being dealt to Winnipeg for Willy.
Heath is now tied with new team mate Maurice Leggett for the CFL lead in interceptions with five.
BC Lions running back Jeremiah Johnson (16 carries/159 yards/3 TD’s) and Calgary Stampeders rookie receiver Davaris Daniels (6 receptions/113 yards/2 TD’s) join Heath among the Week 12 Top Three Performers for their outstanding games vs Montreal and Edmonton respectively.
