Winnipeg – The Winnipeg Jets are now 1-1 in NHL exhibition play after defeating the Minnesota Wild 4-1 on Thursday Night at MTS Centre.
The Wild opened scoring in the first minute of the second period on a Matt Dumba powerplay goal. But just over 2 minutes later, on a Jets powerplay, Mathieu Perreault swept a loose puck in the crease into the net to tie the game.
Linemate Kyle Connor scored what turned out to be the winning goal at the 15:00 mark of the middle frame when Mark Stuart set the rookie up at the right side post with a nifty cross ice pass.
Nikolaj Ehlers, with a burst down the left side and then a wrap around, along with Andrew Copp added goals in the third period.
Connor Hellebuyck started and went the distance for Winnipeg, making 27 saves. The Jets are at home to Edmonton Friday Night in a 7 p.m. start before hitting the road Sunday in Calgary.
