WINNIPEG – A Twitter account bearing the name of a beloved Jets fan has been used online to fuel hate speech.
Len Kropioski, a Canadian military veteran, passed away in September.
Since then, someone created a Twitter account called “Kroppy’s Ghost”.
And they used it to anonymously target people, use racial slurs and make sexist remarks.
Former Winnipeg Blue Bomber Troy Westwood was one of those targeted.
He says it’s a disgrace to see Kroppy’s name being used for evil.
He tweeted back, “You are the ultimate example of a scumbag keyboard coward”.
Social media experts say it’s an unfortunate, but sad reality of the online era we live in.
Since Global News ran this story last night, it appears the account has been deleted.
