LORETTE – Alcohol is being blamed for another fatal crash on Manitoba highways and this one has killed a 17-year-old boy.
It happened early Sunday morning on Highway 207 near Lorette.
Mounties say the victim was in the passenger seat and wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.
He was thrown from the car when it rolled.
The driver was also a 17-year-old boy and he’s in hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Alcohol is also being blamed for another rollover near Headingley.
RCMP came across a vehicle in the ditch on Roblin Boulevard while on patrol early Saturday morning.
The driver was able to exit the car but the passenger, a 25-year-old woman, was trapped.
After being freed by emergency crews, she was taken to hospital with serious injuries and remains in stable condition.
RCMP say the vehicle hit a driveway, flipped into the ditch and struck a light pole and a large tree.
The driver and passenger were wearing seatbelts.
