WINNIPEG – Heritage Classic festivities are underway tomorrow with the Spectator Plaza open at 11:00 AM at Investors Group Field.
There will be plenty of family-friendly activities on tap including a few augmented reality games and human bubble hockey.
A few current Winnipeg Jets players will be taking part in Q&A sessions tomorrow.
The air force will be doing flybys just before each game starts with the Snowbirds making an appearance on Sunday.
Dean Matsuzaki executive VP of NHL events tells 680 CJOB they’re closely monitoring the weather although a few raindrops won’t bother them.
“Cloudy with a little bit of rain is much better than bright sunshine for us, given the lines and logos and how they react to the sun,” says Matsuzaki. “If we do have some really inclement weather, we are prepared to delay a little bit if we need to.”
Matsuzaki recommends getting to the games early to beat the crowd and take part in the festivities with the gates opening 90 minutes prior to the opening face off.
The alumni game gets going at 3:00 PM Saturday with the Heritage Classic taking place on Sunday at 2:00 PM.
