GRAND RAPIDS – In an effort to reduce gun violence and drug trafficking, RCMP in northern Manitoba conducted a search of several houses in Grand Rapids between October 18th and 20th.
Seventeen police officers, including members of the canine unit and gang unit, seized cocaine, marijuana, hash oil, drug paraphernalia and even a stolen firearm.
They charged six adults and one teenager with a variety of drug and weapon offences.
As a result of the operation, two men from Chemawawin were also arrested.
These actions were carried out by the Division Action Response Team, an initiative by RCMP to reduce crime in communities and address specific issues that impact public safety.
