WINNIPEG – The City may have finally found a solution to the headaches surrounding the old Canada Post tower.
A report at City Hall recommends the city enter into an arrangement with local developer, Shelter Canadian Properties.
Pending council approval, Shelter will be given six months to lay out a plan for the 10-storey tower above the new police headquarters on Graham Avenue.
The City has been looking to do something with that tower since it was purchased in 2010 for 29 million dollars.
Officials learned afterwards the tower would need $20-million in renovations. An RCMP investigation is ongoing into the conversion of the police headquarters.
